The Griffin Technical College Library started as a
small collection of reference books in a faculty office. In 1995,
the library was moved to a new renovated classroom space and grew steadily
for the next eight years. The library grew from 1,000 volumes in
1995 to over 12,000 in 2003. In 2003, the new
Technology Center was opened. The library was moved to its new
location on the second floor of the Technology Center in December,
2003. The new space is over 10,000 square feet and has the capacity
to handle years of growth. Currently, the library collection
includes books, journals, VHS and DVD, compact discs, and extensive
web-based resources that fit the needs of Griffin Tech's students,
faculty, and staff.
